By placing an order with Jayne’s Little Cakery you will be deemed to have read, understood and agreed to these Terms and Conditions. If you have any queries about these please contact me at: jaynepip_little@hotmail.com or through my social media channels.
This website and the Terms and Conditions have been designed for use within the United Kingdom and under UK law.
A Contract between the customer and Jayne’s Little Cakery for the production and sale of my products will only exist once an order has been accepted. At this point a non-refundable deposit will be required to ‘save the date’ and secure the order. Deposit and full balance are payable by bank transfer, PayPal or cash. The full balance must be paid within 7-days of the agreed collection date.
Prices and availability of goods is subject to change without notice. Prices will not increase or decrease once the order has been placed. Costs of extra requirements after the order has been placed will be made clear and agreed before I proceed with any changes.
Cake Design
All my cake designs are bespoke and you the customer are involved in the design process; however, the final product is dependent on the information given to Jayne’s Little Cakery by the customer. The interpretation of customers’ bespoke requirements and amendments to the core designs are approved by the customer during the order process.
Jayne’s Little Cakery will do its best to match any colour requests for icing or detailing but I cannot guarantee an exact Pantone match as colours present differently in different materials. I always aim for a perfect match, but this is not always possible.
Edible figures and other articles are a representation of a person or article and will not be an exact representation of a person or article.
Allergies & Special Dietary Requirements
If you have any special dietary requirements or allergies, I will be happy to discuss these with you at the time of ordering.
All products are provided with allergy information for customers’ reference. This is also verbally communicated to the customer upon collection of the product.
All orders are produced in my home kitchen which means I cannot guarantee that they are 100% free from nuts, gluten or dairy.
Jayne’s Little Cakery offers the option for gluten-free cakes but I cannot guarantee that trace amounts will not be present.
It is the customers responsibility to make Jayne’s Little Cakery aware of any special dietary requirements that need to be accommodated in the making of their product.
Jayne’s Little Cakery accepts no liability for customers or their family and friends suffering allergic reactions from eating our cakes.
Fresh Flowers
If you request fresh flowers on or in your product, I always use a florist that provides flowers that are safe to use on food products. If you provide the flowers yourself, you are solely responsible for ensuring they are safe to use on food products. Jayne’s Little Cakery takes no responsibility for any adverse effects that may be caused by using fresh flowers.
Cancelling an Order
I fully understand that circumstances can change and that orders may have to be cancelled by the customer. If you would like to discuss a cancellation, please contact me at jaynepip_little@hotmail.com or through my social media channels. Please remember that deposits are non-refundable.
Payment
Jayne’s Little Cakery accepts online payment in a secure environment by PayPal or bank transfer. I also accept payment in cash. All transactions are in pounds sterling (£).
Conformity of Goods
We take every care to ensure that the description and specification of our products are correct at the time of going to press.
Collection and Delivery
You will be expected to collect your product from Jayne’s Little Cakery in Leven, Beverley, HU17 5JY. The actual address will be communicated at the time of ordering or thereafter. Due to the perishable nature of some of the products, I strongly advise that collection is on or very near to the day of requirement/celebration. Jayne’s Little Cakery is in a residential area, there is free parking available and there is no charge for collection.
Your product will be fully boxed or ‘open-boxed’ depending on the size and complexity of the product.
In general, I do not deliver. However, I am willing to deliver in exceptional circumstances. This delivery charge will be based on the return journey from Jayne’s Little Cakery to the delivery point, charged at 40p per mile. The route taken to and from the delivery address will be at Jayne’s Little Cakery discretion, but I will always endeavour to take the shortest route.
Delivery and set up of wedding cakes will be by negotiation and agreed upon prior to production and delivery.
Cake care
When handling your cake please make sure that you hold the box from the bottom and not the sides.
Ensure there is enough room on a flat surface in your car to transport the cake for example the passenger footwell or boot.
On hot days you should have your air conditioning on if possible to keep the cake cool. Do not leave the cake in the car.
Fondant covered cakes should be stored in a cool dry place and not in the fridge.
Wedding cakes
Jayne’s Little Cakery accepts no liability for wedding cakes that are damaged after they have been delivered and set up at the agreed location.
For cakes delivered to wedding venues, Jayne’s Little Cakery requires a signed acceptance/delivery note by an agreed designated person to confirm that the wedding cake has arrived and that it arrived in perfect condition. Jayne’s Little Cakery may take photographs/video of the wedding cake and its set up as proof of this.
Wedding cakes collected by the customer and or their representative from Jayne’s Little Cakery must be checked by the customer on collection, a signed acceptance/delivery note will be required to say that the wedding cake has been collected in perfect condition. Jayne’s Little Cakery may take photographs/video of the wedding cake as proof of this. Damages after this point are not the responsibility of Jayne’s Little Cakery.
Wedding cakes are made to be as sturdy as possible, but will require care and attention when handling, storing and displaying to prevent damage occurring.
Care must be taken when displaying your cake at your wedding to avoid direct sunlight, spotlights, candles or direct heat sources i.e. radiators. Hand-painted cakes and lustred cakes are particularly vulnerable to heat and light damage. Special requirements regarding display suitability will be discussed during the consultation process. Jayne’s Little Cakery accepts no liability for wedding cakes that are damaged during display at your wedding.
For wedding cakes being set up in a marquee situation please note that excessively warm and hot conditions may impact on the cake and it may be necessary to have the cake stored somewhere cooler and brought out when required.
Disclaimer & Limitations of liability
While Jayne’s Little Cakery uses reasonable endeavours to ensure that the information on this website is accurate and up to date, it does not give any warranty as to its accuracy or completeness and Jayne’s Little Cakery will not be responsible for any errors or omissions or for the results arising from the use of such information.
While Jayne’s Little Cakery takes all reasonable steps to ensure a fast and reliable service, it does not guarantee that your use of this website will be interruption or error free and will not be responsible for any disruption, loss of or corruption of any material in transit, or loss of or corruption of material or data when downloaded onto any computer system.
The entire liability of Jayne’s Little Cakery under or in connection with any contract for any products to which these conditions apply shall not exceed the price of the products.
Jayne’s Little Cakery will not be liable to you or be deemed to be in breach of the contract by reason of any delay in performing, or any failure to perform, any of its obligations in relation to the products ordered by you if the delay or failure was due to any cause beyond its reasonable control.
